I received my PhD. from Florida International University in Miami, FL with Dr. Deron Burkepile in conjunction with Dr. John Parker at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater, MD. I received my BS in Biology/Environmental Studies from the University of Richmond in 2006, where I worked with Dr. Malcolm Hill. In 2010, I received my MS in Marine Sciences from Dr. John Valentine at the University of South Alabama.

I am interested in how climate change affects ecological communities. In particular, I focus on how climate change affects plant-herbivore interactions and the consequences for herbivore fitness and plant community structure. I also study the causes and consequences of species invasions
